HTPC First Build: Computer Components

Advantages: --------1. Outstanding quality and craftsmanship; looks great.2. Comes with 3 x 120mm fans and fan filters!3. USB 3.0 on the front.4. Audio output and microphone input on the front panel.5. Fits my home theater stand which is only 6 inches tall! Cons: -------- 1. As others have said, fan filters require you to completely remove the fans to clean them. I'm not sure how much I'll like this as I'll probably have to remove other parts just to remove the fans.2. The appearance of the case is excellent; however, the interior is missing. They didn't cover the interior with any kind of paint or protective coating to prevent corrosion.3. You must be careful when purchasing parts due to length and height restrictions. I'm not sure how much of a cheat that is because if you're building an HTPC, you already know you have limited storage. However, you need to measure things like PSU, CPU and heatsink + fan height, GPU length and height, RAM height (tall RAM heatsinks). Just keep these factors in mind before purchasing this case or any part of it. Other Thoughts: --------------------- The pros far outweigh the cons, but I just want to make sure consumers understand what they need to know before they buy this product. Here are some tips for this case: ------------------ ----------------1. Make sure to use a stock CPU heatsink + fan if you don't have the cash to splurge on a low-profile aftermarket unit. Don't buy RAM with tall heatsinks. See my build below for what I used.3. With proper planning and measurement, you shouldn't have any trouble placing components in this case.4. My home theater stand only had 6 inches of available height. However, this case falls just short of the 6-inch mark. I removed the soft pads that are under the "legs" of the case to add an additional 2mm of height. The case now fits easily on my stand.5. This case FITS GPU PCB with an overall length of 11 inches.6. This case is SUITABLE for GPU PCB cards with an overall height of 4.4 inches**. Cards with 6-pin or 8-pin PCI-E power supplies on the top also fit in this case. This is a VERY tight fit. There is a workaround though: if your 6 or 8 pin PCI-E power supply cables are tight; Use a hair dryer to heat the cables. This allowed me to place the cables almost flush with the 6 or 8 pin PCI-E power adapter inputs. This gave me enough space to assemble the case without any problems. 3.8GHz Turbo)EVGA Superclocked GeForce GTX 780 3GB (03G-P4-2783-KR)EVGA SuperNOVA NEX750B BronzeSamsung Series 840 MZ-7TD120BW 120GB SATA III SSDWestern Digital Black 1TB HDDG.Skill Ares Series 16GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC 12800) F3-1600C9D-16GARPioneer Black 15X Internal Blu-Ray* * UPDATE 1/23/14:================== Product Dimensions: Height 5.94" Width 17.32" Depth 12.8"
