I work in a bar and restaurant where I stand, run, walk or generally am on my feet longer than 12 hour shifts. I've been in the hospitality industry for at least 15 years. I swore by the Safe-T-Step brand in my shoes. This year, however, they stopped making the version of the shoe that I loved (low-top sneakers with laces, similar to "sneakers"). Outside of work I wear New Balance ("NB") shoes for training and hiking and I love the "Fresh Foam" style and have never had an issue with the NB, I particularly like that they have a "Fresh Foam" style "wide" to have wideness. However - THIS SHOE hurts a lot. The back of these shoes is much higher than the other "non-industrial" version of the shoes. The back of these shoes cut into my ankle leaving bruises and blisters. I thought this shoe would be a great option for me, but unfortunately it didn't work out. I am also very disappointed considering the price. Now that I've worn them a few times only to break them I can't return them and/or get my money back. Do not buy!
