I would give this unit more stars except that after only 3 months of light use it stopped working. The timer just stopped counting down in the middle of the set session and only restarts when you tap or shake it. Otherwise, it's a nice and effective way to save time. The magnetic back made it easy to attach to my oven, fridge, or filing cabinet. I'll say it was fine for cooking or housework, but for intense work in my office I found the loud ticking annoying/distracting.
