Review on Progressive Suspension 430 4069B Anodized Performance by Nicholas Lim

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great dampers, smooth ride

Very easy to fit, looks good and most importantly smoothed out my ride. One thing they don't tell you up front is that on some bike models (like mine) that require a special bushing (included) you will need a U-clip or something to insert the bushing into the lugs . XL1200X 2015. Sportster 48. Bought it new from stock and only did a test ride around town. Pulling onto the freeway, I was struck by how awful and even dangerous the stock suspension was. Dangerous, because when I hit a bump at high speed for the first time, I almost got thrown off my bike. It could also be a hardtail. Was actually a bit mad at Harley because the bike sucks on the Autobahn. Crap suspension, crap saddle, etc. Good thing I plan on modifying this bike a lot. Anyway, I put on a Progressive 430 last night and rode it. It's still sporty, so it'll never ride with the smoothness of a Cadillac glideslope model, but compared to the stock springs, the Progressive shocks give my 1200 a plush, quiet ride that's MUCH more comfortable. It really is an amazing difference. I've ridden 60 miles on progressives and it has been very comfortable. I highly recommend the upgrade. Manual adjustment is relatively easy. I read some reviews that some people find adjusting the preload difficult, but it turned out to be a lot easier than I expected. worth the money.
