Overall quality is pretty good although I'm concerned about the USB-C end as it doesn't feel as strongly connected to the cable seems. The light seems to be based on LEDs and is transmitted via a simple fiber optic cable. However, with this design, the light dims with movement and almost completely disappears at the other end. Two ways to overcome this: either put LEDs on both ends, or make the ones it has significantly brighter so the light actually falls down. This cord, as is, is probably best no longer than 3 feet long for the lighting to work best.
