A good friend recently bought a used car, but unfortunately the previous owner was a smoker. Washing the carpets and seats helped along with cleaning all the interior glass and vinyl. This device from Aldious is relatively compact and looks more like an old radio than a modern device. We removed the cabin filter and all floor mats from the car and placed them in the footwell. We set a timer that goes from 0-120 minutes to 30 minutes. The windows were closed and we ran the power cord through the bottom of the door. You can also leave it in the always-on position if you prefer. For a car I would suggest setting it to no more than 30 minutes. The machine uses oxygen to produce ozone, and indoors it eventually uses up the available oxygen and loses its ability to produce ozone. After 30 minutes the machine turned off, the timer worked. The blue light is on when the machine is producing ozone. We have opened all doors and windows for ventilation. Do it outside the car, you don't want to inhale it. We let the car air out for an hour and repeated the process two more times. The residual smell of ozone continued for a day or two, but the smell of cigarettes disappeared. As a bonus, any mold or mildew that might have been in the car (we didn't see any) would also be wiped out as well. This machine has countless applications. Removing mold/fungus in a house that is wet from flooding or plumbing problems, removing pet odors, etc. It's also safe as long as you remove pets and people from the structure to be treated and then allow it to ventilate adequately. .This unit is well built, works well and comes with a two year warranty. I have a blue block that produces 10,000 milligrams of ozone per hour. The yellow they sell makes 20,000. The smaller unit should be more than enough for most car and homeowner needs.
