HP printer has been telling me I need to replace my printer cartridge for over 4 months, but I'm still using the old one even after printing hundreds of copies with no problems. If I had changed it when I was first notified about it, I would have wasted resources. I think the purpose of this notice is to force you to buy toner cartridges well before you need them. Of course I bought it long before it was needed.
