Review on ๐ŸŸฉ IC3D Vibrant Green 2.0 by Jason Arkin

Amazingly strong and stable, from a brand I've never heard of

To set the stage I just bought a Lulzbot Mini 3D printer (my first). I'm not new to 3D modeling, but 3D printing is new to me. I researched this for a week and finally cleared my head. So I bought filament from several different vendors to "check the gamma" so to speak. Lest others have to learn it the hard way, I'll give my review of the ones I've used so far: After printing half a spindle on IC3D and Verbatim, I found this: 3mm IC3D ABS Black Filament. prints very stable. The print quality does not change, there are no bubbles. I printed some 4x2x2" brackets that I modeled specifically to mount a 42" Smart TV to a specific 60" stand. not even tight! I should mention that the filament tries to fall off the spool and wrap around the spindle holder, but I think this is most likely a problem with the Lulzbot Mini, not the IC3D. I'll probably print an addition on their spindle holder. I also printed a part that broke on my RC car and that holds up better than the original part (and yes I used a hammer on it too and it didn't break ). Verbatim PLA Red 3mm filament prints inconsistently. Surprising considering how long Verbatim has been in the plastics business. I printed one of these heart mechanism models for my wife. Some prints have bubbles, misalignments, and a rough surface (while some prints come out perfect). I used the advertised temperature each time, so I can only attribute it to filament mismatch. I didn't use a hammer for this, so I can't tell. Well, since ABS and PLA are very different plastics, I can still say that I haven't had any problems with IC3D filament, so I can wholeheartedly recommend it. We recommend purchasing an iGauging caliper if you intend to model and print your own 3D models to match the real world. IC3D filament, LulzBot mini printer and caliper are perfectly matched to each other with millimeter precision.
