tl;dr: DO NOT BUY IKUAI Bushings! But you MUST use this provider! This hub DOES NOT COMPLY with USB standards which require all USB Type-A ports to work with all USB versions, from the earliest to the latest USB-3. This hub is "bad by design". I plugged a hub into a USB 2 port on my NEW gaming laptop (no separate power adapter plugged in) and the port briefly displayed "Overload" then the port died. : After immediately unplugging the hub, nothing else worked when plugged into that port. The port did not come back after the reboot. I was REALLY ANGRY and started trying to figure out how to get this seller to pay for my broken laptop! Luckily I also contacted the laptop manufacturer who explained to me that the USB ports are protected by electronic fuses that require a full power cycle to reset. . So I turned it off completely, waited a few seconds, then turned the power back on and the USB port was back and working fine! The hub isn't a complete failure: although I'll never plug it into my laptop again, the power is on and the hub works well as a charging station for other devices. This was actually one of the reasons I picked this hub in the first place: it comes with a 12V 2A (24W) power supply, which puts out more power than externally powered 5V hubs (trouble ), and made useful suggestions. Very good support! They also refunded without asking to return the hub (outrageous for a $20 product): I can keep it as a charging station, which pretty much masks my insane fear when my laptop port died. So we have a case of a very good seller with a very bad product. I don't want the product to feel better than it is, but I don't want to spoil a good deal either. So I upgraded the rating to three stars instead of one. I hope this seller stops selling this hub. I am very concerned that their other IKUAI hubs have similar flaws just because they appear to be the same design.
