I bake a lot of cookies at once and got tired of lining the entire long countertop with a paper towel with newspaper underneath to cool them. This baking rack could hold 2 large baking trays, keeping the first batch chilled enough to be removed when the third tray comes out. When the 4th batch was almost done, the 2nd batch could be removed. So it was easy to keep going until it was all done. In terms of strength, I've only used it on cookies, which is what I bought it for. They fold easily or you can use them individually, they are well balanced either way. They're pretty light, you can't burden them with anything heavy.
