This is by far the best thermometer I have ever bought. The magnet is strong and is INSIDE the device so the glue doesn't dry out and needs to be reapplied or just tossed in a drawer to get lost in the mix. When the probe is extended it turns on, when the probe closes it turns off, even if the probe stays open it turns off so you don't waste your battery. Speaking of batteries, it comes with not just one, but a spare battery as well. Of course, the box says the temperature of the meat, but if you want to keep it in the fridge or on the grill, what's the use, but wait, they've got that covered too, it's also printed right on the back of the thermometer. As a grill father, I can only recommend this to everyone.
