Filters well. I'm not skilled enough to tell this apart from, say, a fridge filter. It seems about the same to me. I had a filter in my fridge for years before I had to replace the fridge with one that had its own filter, but I decided to just leave it alone. Are double filters already installed in the line to the refrigerator? So why 3 stars? Because the new filter came with a bad o-ring. They splashed water everywhere. I had to remove the ring from the old filter to replace the damaged one with a new one. There was a time when Culligan meant quality, but it wasn't now. Maybe next time I'll get a third party replacement.
