I bought this bag for a 2 week trip to Europe. I wore it every day when I was outside - both face to face and as a backpack. It was light enough to be carried around and didn't bother me while shopping (prevention etc.) or eating at restaurants, but had separate pockets and compartments for my passport, ID, credit card, cosmetics in case of emergencies, bottled water. and even an umbrella! I preferred to wear it behind my back because it was more comfortable. The strap is made thicker as it approaches the top of the bag. This design feature is great for carrying on my back and caused the strap to rub against my neck when I carried the bag on my chest. So that was the only downside. However, carrying the bag on my back didn't bother me as both zippers close with carabiner locks. I mentioned the water bottle. You can slip an entire 20-ounce bottle of water into the bag's center compartment and zip it up. This was a happy discovery after receiving and trying on the bag. There is an outer mesh pocket for my compact umbrella, which I use almost every day!
