Worked great as a meat tenderizer. However, I tried piercing the pigskin to make greaves. I will not. Think of the bed-of-nails illusion. Many nubs cover a large surface area and therefore the pressure of individual nubs is too low without applying a great deal of force. I hit the pork shoulder's leather a few times with fabric softener and managed to hold the spikes in place, but they didn't really penetrate. Stopped before I broke it, but the device proved surprisingly durable and showed no ill effects from my potential destruction tests. so it's strong. Obviously, to pierce pigskin, it is better to use a four-pointed utensil. But as a meat tenderizer (and you have two), it's a great kitchen tool.
