After being diagnosed with a skin condition (ichthyosis) I was advised to find a good exfoliating soap. I first tried Dove's Exfoliating Soap and it worked really well. After further research and reading numerous reviews, I came across Baxters. I was a bit hesitant because of the price ($19 a bar) but I realized what nonsense. After using it for the last few months it was at least worth it! I wanted to be sure I was paying that much for a bar. Soap, so I kept an open mind and kept researching. In my search, I also tried Marlowes Exfoliating Bar ($8 per bar). The Marlowe bar was the same size (7 ounces) as Baxter, but its peeling was much more aggressive. So much so that you have to be careful not to damage the skin when applying it. What drew me to Baxter was that its scrub was more comfortable and the soap cost twice as much as its closest competitor. The dirt and dead skin I'm removing now is just amazing. I mentioned that one bar lasts for three to four weeks! So in terms of money, quality, and results, you can't beat Baxters.
