Review on πŸ§€ WECATION Tofu Press: Large Adjustable Spring Double Presser for Soft, Firm, and Extra Tofu & Cheese - Dishwasher Safe by Lisa Walton

Revainrating 2 out of 5

All in all not the best tofu press

It presses TOFU of course but overall it has many design flaws which are listed below. It's billed as the largest tofu press, but it can't make 2 standard sized tofu blocks at once, max 1.5 that could fit, so "big but not big enough" means it's just not a comfortable size . If I could do 2 blocks at once all other problems would be in the shadows. The springs below do not fit. They have ridges but they pop out when washed so you have to constantly change all 4 springs with every use. The plastic grooves had to wrap more around the spring to get it in place, a trivial design decision that wasn't made. Not easy to clean, there are too many parts, what should be a quick clean, so not as quick as it could be. Same problem with drying, too many details. The lower plastic bends when pressed, so the pressing is uneven and therefore not optimal. Again a bad design choice, the springs are too far apart and need to be more centered to better balance them. The pieces don't fit together very well for storage, take up a lot of storage space, and don't feel organized in the kitchen. .- There are no holes in the bottom plastic panel, so some water will collect at the bottom of the bottom shelf, which is made worse by the flexing of the bottom board, creating a small pool of water at the bottom of the bottom shelf. Tofu. Suboptimal design. The thread of the screw is too tight. You have to turn a lot to move the upper press. They had to choose a screw with a much wider thread so it took fewer turns to move it. Again, a simple design flaw that wouldn't cost a dime to change, just thinking ahead and testing the product.
