Great Atmos speakers. If you have the right space, they can elevate your existing surround setup for very little money. Most modern receivers support Atmos, giving you an 'easy' way to see what an immersive sound field can be. I have an Elac UB5 for L/R, a Unifi UC5 center and some Mirage FX for the sides, plus 4 Martin Logan Dynamo subs. (I like soft bass placed to reduce room mode) all in the repurposed bedroom which is the upstairs media room. This is a tricky room as it's almost cubic (12ft x 10ft x 9ft) but the ceiling is just the right height and reflective. Just smack across the top of the stand-mounted UB5 with great force and they're in place. Because these are coaxial drivers, the tonal cohesion of the tweeter and midrange is nice and smooth, and since we have ceiling tones it's best to match them from the start. After running the Denon/Audyssey setup and calibration again, I reviewed clips from several UHD BluRay discs with Atmos tracks, as well as a Dolby Atmos demo disc and Immersive Bubble is pretty good, pitch noise is clearly coming from "above". ' but perhaps not as clear as in my main home theater room. For this small room at 5.4.2, the sound is surprisingly good for a (relatively) small investment. I'm happy to enjoy the additional immersive sound field for non-Atmos music and movies as well, as the latest Dolby Surround Upmixer is almost magical in its effectiveness. As a reference to my review, I also have a full install of 5.4.4 Atmos. in my home theater room (16' x 26' x 10') with 4x JBL SCS8 which are the same height as Atmos speakers you find in commercial cinemas and give a clearer picture of the height since they are actually top mounted and there are 4 of them. However, if you're just relaxing and watching a movie, the Elac Atmos speakers do a great job and represent excellent value for money. highlighted.
