When the waffle iron cools down, the indicator lights up again, which means that the waffle iron is "catching up" with the required temperature. The dough from the instructions is very thick - this is normal. This recipe makes 3 pairs of waffles from one serving of dough. The waffles are just amazing. The waffle maker heats up evenly, which is why the waffles are baked evenly over the entire area.
