Review on πŸ”₯ Cuisinart CBT-100: Ultimate Bluetooth Meat Thermometer for Easy Cooking by Melanie Lee

WiFi range renders this useless - not recommended

I bought these with high hopes that they would give me many hours of brisket smoking. The hope was that I could put it in meat or use it as an ambient temperature thermometer on the grill and then, thanks to Wi-Fi, do other tasks while monitoring the temperature. If you are further than about 2 to 2.5 m away from the device, you will lose the signal. Each time you lose the signal, you'll have to reconnect to the device and you'll find that you've lost the entire 'story' of the chef. It really drives you crazy. So much so that I deleted the app because it's functionally unusable. I mean, if you just don't want to get out of your chair to check your temperature, that's fine. Otherwise, do not select this model for the "Wi-Fi” function. It's also a bit annoying, but not harmful, that the blue backlit display only stays on for a few seconds and then turns off. So if you're frying in the dark, you'll either have to connect to Wi-Fi (from a few feet away) or get up to press a button to turn on the backlight. It's just not a very well designed thermometer. I'd rather not buy it.

Pros
  • EASY TEMPERATURE CONTROL VIA CUISINART APP: The thermometer can be accessed via the Cuisinart mobile app where you can set your desired temperature and keep an eye on your chef.
Cons
  • Negative Impression
