Be sure to test this SSD thoroughly before using it. The first SSD I received was behaving strangely. First format failed. Once the drive is set to the correct format, it makes loud intermittent "chirping" noises, gets very hot during operation, and appears to freeze during data transfer. It also wouldn't detach properly from my MacBook, even if the drive wasn't working and "forced ejecting" resulted in the drive becoming completely corrupt! Since I was using it for Time Machine backups, this was a bit frustrating as it would require a reformat and another full backup. Luckily I was able to exchange at Revain and get a new disc. The replacement is still chirping softly, so maybe I just have sensitive ears, but it's also much slower and transfers data at the expected speed. For the past month, I've had no problems backing up and then ejecting a drive after shutting down Time Machine.
