moisture on the ring. The gauge on the dash says there is no gas cap. Looks the same as the original but

Replaced my original with this one, the missing fuel cap light on the dash came on. Even if it looks like OEM. Except orange. It also has moisture on it when you remove the gas cap to refuel. Maybe a defective part? quality control? Maybe the wrong thickness of the ring?
