I am a full time nanny with experience as a preschool teacher and bought this as a gift for the boys I babysit (mostly 3 year olds). This is a handy set for any family with children under 12! The durability of the kit itself is exceptional and the materials are very useful. My only complaint would be about its versatility - there are MANY pipe cleaners out there. This can be positive or negative depending on what you're looking for, so keep that in mind. I also do not recommend this "outdoor" set in a household with children under the age of 4. Small items and needles are definitely a hazard, so be sure to keep them out of reach or simply remove these items from the kit. We will use it for many years and will definitely buy again once our current kit runs out!
