Firstly, this product arrived on time and undamaged. Overall Impression: This quadcopter is a great little RC "toy" for the price. Because: I bought this product for my father (retired pilot) who has Parkinson's disease and heart complications (replaced aortic valve, etc.). So you can imagine he's not the most agile or coordinated anymore. However, as they say, he has no problem flying in our fields. My reason for buying this product for him is because he used to be very interested in RC flying and had a workshop built specifically for assembling airplanes (both RC and real airplanes). Before his health began to fail, he flew RC airplanes daily (weather permitting, of course) and often built models for local flying clubs and museums. After the first operation, however, he could no longer fly accurately and sold all his planes (which, one might say, broke his heart). I recently discovered this product and thought heck it seems stable... and it is as long as there is no wind and the trimmer is set correctly. At first he was against trying it as he was afraid of breaking it due to his health symptoms but after I finally got him to take control he fell in love with it. Pros: 1) This quad is very stable in calm winds (no wind is better) and with the trims properly adjusted, which is easy to do (check your manual). 2) Very light weight and the blades have a protective cover to reduce the risk of injury. 3) Flies accurately with good control. 4) LED lights help with morning and evening flights in terms of directionality (not much in daylight) 5) Comes with spare propeller blades in case of damage (4 total) Daylight conditions, not great but still impressive. Don't try it in darker conditions. 7) Decent battery life. I suppose you can take your computer with you and charge it in flight if you want, but I wouldn't recommend this as small engines need time to cool down between flights (to prolong their life and not burn them out). : 1) Difficult to determine direction when going further or higher in altitude. As you can imagine, since it is completely symmetrical when it moves any distance, all directional signals disappear. It has LED headlights which are great for flying at dusk and/or dawn, but these lights are difficult to see in daylight. It takes some practice to learn, and it might be better if the product was colored in two separate bright colors to solve this problem easily. For the price, that's really not a downside of the product, just a personal preference. 2) Quad can be sensitive to syncing with the controller. Essentially make sure the quad is in a horizontal position at launch, otherwise it will just flicker insanely (because of the LEDs) and do nothing. Again, this is not a real product issue, but a personal method we had to learn. If the quad starts to drift abnormally in flight when the trim doesn't help (and the wind isn't a problem), just land it, turn it and the controller off, then turn them back on and sync again. It took us a little time to figure it out, but with practice it's not that hard. This is a product issue that more expensive quads typically don't have, but for the price, it really isn't an issue. Special Safety Instructions: 1) PLEASE fly responsibly. Although this ATV is an inexpensive "toy", its blades can injure our viewers. 2) Keep all spectators at a safe distance. 3) Only fly it in open areas. Because this product is very light, the higher you go, the more it will be picked up and carried away by the wind. So make sure you have enough space for it if it's not strong enough to handle. For example, we have several large fields with adjacent rows of trees. On one particular flight, as the ATV went above the tree line, the wind picked up dramatically. So much so that the quad flew 500 yards in the opposite direction in 5 seconds when we were flying it at maximum control. This is important to consider as we had very little wind on the field itself. Only when we reach higher altitudes does the wind pick up (in this particular case). So if we didn't have enough ground to get it down safely, it could fall. If you weren't flying in a safe area and the same thing happened, you too could fall and/or injure someone if reception is ever lost (due to distance). extreme heights until you learn how to fly it free. Again, directionality becomes an issue because everything is white and so symmetrical. So if the lighting isn't dim enough to see the LEDs, it can be difficult for a beginner to figure out which way they're flying until it's too late. Always break in all RC motors.
