I needed some replacement bulbs for an existing installation with halogen washers mounted in glass fronted cabinets with glass shelves. I had built-in 12VDC transformers installed above cabinets that weren't normally accessible. The wiring on these lights is hardwired and there was a lot more than I needed so I trimmed the excess, spliced into the existing wiring (after cutting out the old washers) and taped the remaining wiring back into the space above. Wardrobe. Since it was surface mount I didn't want it to look cheap. The flashlight has a beautiful brushed steel finish and the body is all metal and well finished. It shines just as well as halogens and I haven't noticed any heat issues. I will be buying more of these as I need to replace the lights in other built in closets in my house. The light comes transformerless, which is fine for me, but you may need it. The lens part is a bit difficult to get out of the housing at first, but it's not too bad once you get the hang of it.
