This short adapter seems like a better (more compact) approach than an alternative cable with separate male and female ends. However, this is our second adapter because the ground pin on the 120 volt side of the first adapter broke after a few years of heavy use. We "store" this adapter separately from the 120 volt power strip we normally use (we prefer the 120 volt power strip over the 30/50 amp alternatives for flexibility - general ease of use) and plug in the adapter therefore every day on and off . . It might have been better to leave the adapter plugged into the power strip to avoid the frequent plugging and unplugging that we thought contributed to the ground pin failure.
