This camera has served me well, but not enough. I can say that he takes incredible pictures, but only when he makes up his mind. I had great difficulty taking pictures in low light and taking pictures of moving subjects. Many times I've missed great shots because this camera spends so much time focusing and refocusing that it ends up being a blurry image after I frantically press the button. To my dismay, the button recently broke. I've had cameras before and have never had a shutter snap. I think the shutter button has to be one of the most reliable elements of a camera, especially for a Sony that usually gets so little for so much money. I really feel cheated because I bought this camera in early 2007. So I will say that the camera body is cheap. The viewfinder window is also crooked/out of place. I don't think it's one of those rugged cameras that people keep bragging about. I hope these issues have been fixed in the new version. I have stopped believing in Sony and recommending NOT to do it now. As I said, this camera takes incredible pictures when it wants to, but that's not enough for me. It also produces orange and other odd hues in indoor shots, although I've tried different settings. If anyone has any secret how to get this camera to work as it should please email me. This is my part for now. I just bought a Panasonic Lumix with a Leica lens as a solution to my problem with the Sony DSC-H7. I look forward to a new era of stress-free photography.
