The first foam filter broke when trying to remove it from the pleated filter for cleaning. The second one I took off very carefully, but it only ripped because I rubbed it lightly under running water to clean it. They each did not survive a purge or two. It's pointless. It's a light fluffy foam, not a thicker, denser foam (my OEM survived years of washing). The foam filters came with large nubs - they weren't designed as a circle, they were designed flat and then cut off in the middle. , so that spreading around the pleated filter left a bulge on the outside and a tiny gap on the inside. I will avoid this brand forever.
