Carpets stand for "Perfection is the enemy of good". I have a new 2005 Subaru Legacy Limited Station Wagon that I bought these floor mats for to keep the fluffy black carpet clean in my home in rural West Virginia. I had to trim both front floor mats to fit, particularly the driver's side front mat due to the leg brace on the left side of the cab. The rear mats didn't need to be cut, however, and now all four areas can handle moderately wet shoes, boots, mud or some snow without soiling the factory carpets. The rubber is very flexible, about "medium" thick, and they look almost custom due to the design printed on them. I've had them for a few weeks now and so far they haven't shifted on the floor. Can I buy OEM? Yes. Sometimes it is necessary. But these rugs are good enough, they look good and the price doesn't bite.
