I love this comforter because it fits my comforter perfectly, it's the perfect height and weight I wanted, the face fabric is nice and the seams are meant to prevent sticking, but... . . Does the instruction say to wash before use? I wouldn't dare wash or dry it without an industrial washing machine and I don't feel like going to the laundry. . . I don't want to waste time, money and energy. Unlike many textiles and other Chinese-made products, which have a distinct "dangerous" smell, this blanket didn't have one. I ignored the instructions and used it immediately without rinsing. Maybe I'm exposing myself to carcinogens? Another problem I've encountered, as demonstrated by this experience, is that many comforters are fine as long as you don't wash them or wash them repeatedly. I'm in no hurry to aggravate the inevitable clumping and clumping of polyester-filled comforters. Oh if I could find a real goose down comforter for the price I was willing to pay. . .
