I just bought a second cap. I have a big head (I must have a big shiny brain right?) and very thick long hair. The rest of the caps slide off and don't cover all of my hair. My first cap lasted 2 1/2 years before the elastic wore out. I undid the seam and tightened the elastic and now everything is fine. I change every other day so the hat dries well. After the shower I dry the outside of the cap, turn it inside out and let it dry completely. Terry cloth can smell a bit musty over time, so I wash hats as needed. I just throw them in the delicate cycle (COLD water) and let them air dry. Worth every cent for me.
