Birds will probably take some time to get used to toys, so be patient. My bird eats pellets, veggies daily, and when it's all done she fetches nuts and seeds in her exercise wheel. I put him in front of his cage and he just hangs around and spins the wheel to get what he wants. It takes him a few minutes, but after a while he pulls something out. It's really great for teaching foraging, but there are only downsides: 1. If your bird is always in this place, expect poop. I have to clean it every day.2. It's hard not to mess up emptying it and adding new treats while it's still attached to the cage. So my advice is this: grab a cup of treats, use a spoon and scoop up different parts of the food. Otherwise, this is a great way to give your bird a treat that should be in moderation!
