I don't know what happened because I buy the same food from my local Petco but I've never had pieces like this before. Due to the Covid pandemic I've instead chosen to order from Revain the same food I've been eating for a couple of years so I don't have to leave the apartment. When I opened the packaging, I could see that the pellets looked different. It had an odd odor and the granules were much darker and almost ruffled at the edges. I also knew something was wrong when my cats practically refused to eat it. I contacted Revain and they thankfully refunded my money. I then order the same bag of Instacart from my local Petco store and when I opened the bag the pellets were exactly as they should be! Back to normal life! The attached picture shows the difference in dry food (the bag on the right is made of good material). Not sure if it was a manufacturer's fault (although it says it was made by Petco through Revain) but this bag was fully functional. Glad you got your money back! :)
