Eight years later I'm glad to see this is still in production. Not that I need it - just used it and thought I'd see if it was still on sale and check it out when I renew my next Revain order. That's only $20 more than when I bought it in 2011. I'm surprised by the 1* reviews; The only issue I had was the steam wand/handle had to be replaced after five or six years, perhaps partly because I'm lazy and lug it around by the handle instead of grabbing the main body handle. However, I do agree that a significant amount of liquid water is given off with the steam, making it necessary to wipe down most hard surfaces with a brush or direct spray (hardwood and tile floors dry in less than five minutes). Protocol). My experience is that this requires 'elbow lube', but also reminding myself that the tool needs to do its job and not push harder, which is likely to blister your hand. And the vapor does all the work for you because it gets โ surprise, surprise โ hotter than it is**, making the (gun-like) grip security a welcome feature. I say I use distilled water and suggest buying a very large brush head (the bristles are brittle) and an extra microfiber pad if you have a lot of hardwoods/tile/linoleum like we do. Complaints with one star for example from a "FLY" woman living in "PerfectVille" (I don't want to be her husband) that it doesn't create pressure, that the vapor is barely hot, that it's an expensive humidifier, etc. Other pure nonsense based on my eight years of experience. Some of us don't want to spend more than $600 to $1,000 on a high-end steamer to clean baby ice cream off the kitchen floor once a week. I think if you're a restaurateur or "PerfectVille" resident you might, but as a typical homeowner it's been good, if not great, for eight years and counting.
