I bought this radio to replace another radio that has seen better days. After reading about the features, I was convinced. The radio arrived in good condition. I also bought a charger and immediately charged it for 6 hours as recommended. I use the radio every day in my office and I have to say I'm surprised. I never put batteries in the radio, I just raised the solar panel and the radio is powered perfectly. I leave it on so it charges even when I'm not using the radio. I listen about 3 hours every day. All functions work as advertised. Now for the bad: The radio doesn't have the range of what I replaced. This is disappointing. I was expecting it to at least fit in the small radio I used before, but it doesn't. Therefore 3 stars. I can hear some stations but not the ones I used to listen to. Updated Review: I have owned this radio for 3 years now. During this time I bought a new battery for the battery function and a wire antenna. My radio has a rubber finish and for a while it was very good. Now the coating has deteriorated to the point where I can't handle it without the rubber coating peeling off my fingers. He's very sticky. I contacted Kaito about this and the person I spoke to explained that this radio comes with a one year warranty. At the Finish? He said this only happens when the radio is exposed to heat. It's a solar powered radio! To work it needs to be on a window or outside in the sun! sun = warm. I paid $10 more than what is currently on sale. My advice: be careful when buying this model. If used in the sun, the coating will be damaged.
