After installing the Kohler toilet seat, I had to keep tightening the screws because they came loose and the seat kept sliding from side to side. After doing this a few times I noticed that the pins connecting the seat (and lid) to the hinges had too much lateral play causing the seat to move from side to side, put pressure on the screws and loosened them. repeatedly, although I kept pulling them tighter. As a result, one of the hinges is completely broken as you can see in the photo. I chose this toilet seat because of the Kohler brand. I have a couple of Kohler sinks at home so I knew the brand and thought it stood for quality. But this toilet seat was either poorly constructed or defective or both. Despite the low price, it wasn't worth the money at all. By the way, I was going to give it zero stars overall and for reliability, but the site requires at least one star.
