I had a slightly larger version of this backpack but unfortunately it was no longer available when I needed to replace it. From experience, these are strong and durable. The only reason I wanted to replace the first one was because the mesh for the water bottles started to tear and the charging port gave out. It lasted a few years before it started to give out. When I purchased this new smaller version, there were definitely some improvements over the last model. The zip pocket for the cards far exceeds the button on the older model. The mesh for the water bottles has been replaced with a very strong material that looks as if it will last as long as the bag itself. The numerous pockets are just as plentiful and each item you carry can easily find it's own special location. But, I miss the roominess. I could bring everything in the old one when I traveled. I didn't need a separate bag for weekend getaways. That's not an option for me with this bag. It's still great for everyday use and I don't think you could find a better backpack at this price point with so many features. The lack of space would only bother someone who happened to have the older version. I assume 95% will think it's perfect.
