Review on Set Of 20 Reusable Sous Vide Bags - Vacuum Sealer Bags For Food Storage, Quart And Gallon Sizes, BPA-Free, Freezer Safe by Casey Vance

Convenient, but wish the bags were wider and easier to clean

Having used these bags several times with my new Joule, I do like having reusable bags for my sous vide cooking needs. That being said, I do wish the larger bags were wider in size and a bit bigger. I hardly use the smaller bags. I tried using the white clips to help seal the bags but didn't find these white clips all that effective in doing that. Instead I used my fingers and manually pressed to make sure the bags were sealed. Most of the time the vacuum pump worked to pull air out of the bag, but as another reviewer mentioned, one must position the pump carefully over the hole or it's not effective. Also, if one has oils or liquids in the bag, then this liquid can get pulled up when sucking air out of the bag also. I'm not sure if having oils/liquids inside the bag impact the hole where the vacuum pump works. I found these bags hard to clean if using oils in the bag but didn't try cleaning with baking soda paste yet.

Pros
  • Can be used for storing DIY beauty products such as face masks
Cons
  • The bags may not have a long enough lifespan for frequent use, leading to more waste
