The death of innocence as a young boy reveals the truth about Nazi Germany

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas is about the death of innocence. Asa Butterfield is like any little boy, he just wants to play with other kids. However, this is not possible as he lives in a remote complex while his father, David Thewlis, an SS officer, runs the concentration camp. Everything changes when Butterfield escapes his home, finds his way into the camp and meets a Jewish boy, Jack Scanlon. In the process, he gradually uncovers the truth about Nazi Germany. The film plays on Butterfield's childhood views. At first he doesn't understand what he's seeing, but little by little it comes to mind. This is a totally original take on the Holocaust that you probably won't see again. You will end up choking.
