Black ink didn't work

I first bought this cartridge for my 9 year old HPE710n with no reviews or prices. The color cartridge worked and the prints were fine, but lighter than the original HP cartridge. The black ink cartridge that came with the kit did not print and when it did print it was very light despite all the settings made on my printer/computer. Too bad I have to return it as it didn't work for me.
