The base of the stock mirror has a cut out where it originally mounted above the door hinge bracket, but this bracket does not mount flush in that area and hangs down leaving a gap between the base of the mirror and the bracket. Over-tightening the mirror's three torx screws risks breaking the mirror's base. The two holes used to attach the mount to the windshield were in the wrong place, placing it too close to the hinge. So when I reinstalled my hard doors and closed the door, the bracket touched the hinge and scratched everything. Hinge color in this range.
