There are many different brushes in this set that I don't have and some but can you have too many brushes? They have soft but firm bristles. They are easy to hold and manoeuvre. This would be great for beginners as these are really good brushes and not too expensive. We all have our favorite brushes and it's a good way to experiment with the ones you like and that work for you. I have many types and brands of brushes from high to low. This is very good quality. They mentioned a smell, but I didn't notice it until I sniffed them closely. It's barely noticeable and I'm sensitive to smells. Cleaning should remove all odors.
