Review on Kuretake Bimoji Brush Pen Set - Extra Fine, Fine, 🖋️ Medium, Broad Tips with Medium Bristles - Value Pack of 5 Pens by Barbara Simmons

I bought these for a comics class I'm taking but I've bought a Pentel brush pen before so I'm a bit familiar with the quality and how to use it. Of the five pens, only the largest size has true bristles. I personally prefer bristle tips, but these tend to streak with larger strokes, which shouldn't actually happen. The second picture shows a comparison between Kuretake and my Pentel. (Upper bar - Pentel, lower - Kuretake). While the Pentel has a smoother, coarser stroke, great consistency, and no stray bristles, the Kuretake bristles separate fairly easily and are less likely to form the aforementioned streaks. It's also not as pigmented as Pentel, although it's barely noticeable. There is almost no difference in the weight of the last 2-3 pens either. If you are experienced and can stand constant pressure, you only want the largest one with bristles as you can get almost any thickness you want. In that case, though, just buy a Pentel. If you're not that experienced you only need about 2-3, large, medium and maybe small - a small one can give you the same delicacy as very thin pens with very little pressure change. Other than that I haven't had any problems with these pens. Again, I'm not very familiar with brush pens, but I'd say they're great for practicing certain techniques. The price for this pack of five is great.
