I asked a lot of people about boys bikes before deciding on this one. My boys (ages 4 and 5) rode 12" Huffy and Kawasaki bikes. Both had issues, most notably the lack of torque on the pedals. The older kid was pedaling so hard (mainly because he was pedaling while standing). ) that the chain has broken. EVERY DAY. This one is much better built and the mechanics fit better. The boys both love it (I have a 20 inch order for an older kid who is almost six and HIGH). The training wheels are of good quality and the frame is a bit lighter than other brands. Assembly is a more intuitive process than following the standard 50-page manual. Even my tech-savvy husband got it wrong: he turned the front fork upside down and was happy with that until I showed him a picture showing the opposite. Just be patient or take it to a bike shop. I love how low the seat on this bike can be adjustedβa four-year-old is just over 40 inches tallβbut having the seat in the lowest position is just right for him. (A five year old is 48 inches tall and I wouldn't mind riding a bike that size for too long - it looks awkward on it).
