I often use a Boston shaker, but sometimes I prefer a small cocktail shaker because it's easier to clean and dry. It's enough for two cocktails and I bought it for my daughter who lives in a small apartment with limited space. A separate hawthorn strainer is not required, but I bought her a small fine strainer to use if needed. Before I gave it to her I cleaned it well and checked it. It was a snug fit, but with a little "swaging" to make it more even, it now connects easily. Works great - wow! UPDATE - Shaker made an offer to get a free set of three spouts to fill out a form and survey. The spouts must be shipped within 48 hours. I'm sure I've met all the requirements, but I haven't received spouts in over two weeks. I tried using the "Contact Us" link on their website but that didn't change the page. My shaker rating hasn't changed, but I downgraded my rating to three stars due to the waste of time and temptation to share my contact information. LAST UPDATE. Well it's been almost three months since I received the shaker and sent an offer for three free pourers but they arrived today and look pretty good. My rating has been upgraded to the original 4 stars.
