Review on πŸ“· OLYMPUS OM-D E-M5 Mark II (Black): Ultimate Performance in a Sleek Body by Lee Hoon ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The perfect purchase for me, exactly what I was looking for!

In the reviews on the whale, this camera is compared with the Panasov old woman G5. It was to replace the dying G5 that this Olympus was bought. In terms of noise, the G5 is much worse: in lightroom, information from the shadows from the oil is much better, with fewer artifacts. And even those noises that appear look somehow . nobly or something . As for me, ISO 1600 is quite a working one (her husband and colleague here disagrees with me and claims that working 800)). As for the Hires mode. The mode is quite demanding on the initially correct exposure, otherwise, when pulling information from the shadows, artifacts in the form of pixels come out. But the very fact of having the ability to take frames of 9000 pixels along the long side of such a crumb impresses me personally. Initially, we licked our lips at the second "one", but with such a difference in the budget, we came to the conclusion that for now even five would be enough for us. In general, the carcass is very satisfied.

Pros
  • + Fast (well, yes, not a fresh "one", of course, but compared to the old camera (see comment) it is very fast). + Stabilization - I shoot handheld very badly (constantly blurring, even at 1/80). About shutter speeds of 8 seconds from the hands (of which there are reviews on the network), of course, I’m far away, but at 1/20 I didn’t get blurry frames. + Stabilization for video is a separate advantage (however, I’m not a pro on the video, I’m judging purely from a hobby video on the street with my hands) + Working ISO 800 or even 1600 (see comment) + Focusing on the eye closest to the camera is, for me, some kind of prohibitively space technology) + Shooting on a computer (very useful for commercial shooting) + Haires - 9000 pixels on the long side. + Focus peaking (but it is probably already on all modern cameras now). + The included flash, which does not require a separate power supply and has a swivel head in all axes, is a good travel option that takes up almost no space. + Subjective - the ability to open the battery compartment to change the battery without removing the tripod plate (a Manfrotto tripod may not be so important for other companies). It is also convenient that the memory card slot is on the side. + Shutter sound. Very pleasant :)
Cons
  • - Lack of "very precise" focus is the biggest drawback where the old carcass wins and I suffer ( - Not all things can be assigned to shortcut buttons, for some you need to crawl quite deep in the menu. - Does not show the shutter speed of each of the frames when shooting with bracketing - when it is dark in the room, and shutter speeds for several. seconds, I want to know how many seconds it is one or 20. - An inconvenient cover for connectors - when a cable is plugged into the camera (whether it be a remote cable or a cable for shooting in a computer), the screen rotates very limitedly (you can just open it, but turning it up or down is almost impossible). If this rubber cover had more elasticity, the screen could rotate fully. During filming, it's really inconvenient.
