I used these stainless steel locking nuts with matching stainless steel bolts to build a bunk bed. About 1/3 of the nuts that are stuck on the bolt after the bolt has passed through simply went through the nylon lock built into the nut before the nut/bolt was tightened to secure the respective parts of the bunk bed being worked on. The jammed nuts would not loosen, they would get stuck and the bolt had to be cut off and the nuts/bolts replaced with new ones. When it turns out that something in the nuts was causing the problem, because a jammed nut that I was able to unscrew from the bolt left some of the threads on the bolt damaged, most of the time some of the bolt threads were exposed on the end of the bolt. My visual inspection of the bolt threads prior to tightening the nuts revealed no problems or defects. I hand tightened the nuts up to the nylon locks in the nuts to make sure they both work properly before attaching them to the bunk bed but this problem persists. These were high quality stainless steel screws.
