The lack of design makes them useless.

I make jewelery and love earrings. I like the kidney hook ear hook style because it lets the earring fall below the earlobe and doesn't get in the way of the design. But I can't use these. The slight bend you want the earring to hang from isn't round enough that it can't be tightened without flattening out. If you look at the pictures you will understand what I am talking about. In the picture, the JGFinds version has a much more pronounced curve that can be compressed without smoothing out the hole. So I highly recommend them instead.

Pros

With a slight round pleat at the bottom for easy attachment of other embellishments such as beads or chain links.
