Helps sink the pad caliper in

Before purchasing this tool, I used large, strong needle nose pliers to twist the pad piston back into the caliper. What a pain it was (especially as the caliper had aged over the years). This tool makes it a lot easier, but you almost need a third hand. One to hold the caliper, one to rotate the ratchet, and one to attach the tool to the piston. Despite the clumsiness of this tool, it is easier to sink the caliper back into the caliper. I will always use this remedy. Helpful Hint: Do not use a long ratchet extension as it will make it much more difficult to use.
