Found this product while looking for a portable potty seat from Revain. My 2 year old daughter is potty training and although she is fine with "big pots" sometimes public spaces can be pretty obnoxious (public parks, beaches, gas stations etc.) and sometimes the spaces are just too big. At first I was looking for one of those little plastic four-way fold-up seats, but after reading a lot of negative reviews about it (too brittle, slippery, etc.) it was the Potette that caught my eye. This review is for the Potette Plus which, to my knowledge, differs from the original Potette in that the seat is designed to function as a standalone portable potty (used with the plastic bag attachments provided) OR a small potty. Seat (placed on a regular toilet). I'm not familiar with the original Potette seats, but as far as I know they don't have that little feature. I was a little confused about how it worked and it didn't look that wearable in the photos, but the price was right and I thought I'd definitely give it a try. When I got the product in the mail I got a better feel for how it works. It consists of a small, round, solid ring (the seat itself) with two crescent-shaped "legs" that either fold fully inward for storage, straight down to serve as potty legs, or curve outward, to act as a chair. potty seat. It's certainly bulkier than a quad-folding potty seat when stored, but it's still surprisingly compact in reality. It easily fits in all my diaper bags and is definitely smaller than lugging around a separate little potty chair that we used to make before I got it. It was a little awkward at first to figure out how to put it on a large pot. It doesn't fit most pots snugly so it felt a little slippery, but I tried placing it too far forward and if I move it back a little it lands between the two halves of the pot. The toilet seat is very nice. The plastic seat itself is very durable. I think I could run my car over him without even scratching him. My daughter sits on it very comfortably. Sometimes it slides back and forth a bit as it doesn't snap onto the seat like some household pots, so you'll have to hold it and your baby on some toilets (which is a good idea anyway). But I never worried about it failing or falling in the water. My daughter didn't even blink while sitting on it, and in fact she told me she wanted to "blush (one)!" She really likes this product. I didn't get a chance to use it as a standalone potty until last weekend when we went to the beach and she suddenly announced she had to go. The nearest public toilets were very far away and I didn't think we would get there. Thinking about my legs, I got Potette out of my backpack, sat her on the sand, unzipped the diaper and put it underneath, and she immediately used it without hesitation. (I would use the plastic bag provided but am thinking of taking it with me). I've read a few criticisms about the size (ie the seat is too small) and durability. First the caveat that my daughter is small. She's barely two years old and small, so I don't mind the size. It's actually perfect for her, but I also think a bigger toddler would be fine too. It's a small ring (I'm guessing about 9 inches in diameter at the widest point) but they don't really need to be something that big if you think about it. Even if her bum is hanging off the edges, it still serves a purpose. okay (just like our adult asses are hanging off the sides of an adult toilet seat). As for the legs, in order to use them in the potty position, you have to insert and snap them into place. If you don't, it would be really fragile. But once they snap into place they feel VERY sturdy and I'm not worried about my daughter falling off. I suppose I could stand on it without staggering, although I certainly don't recommend it! It comes with a thick plastic bag that you can put it in, which is great for storage. I keep a bag of flushable wipes and a spare liner in the ring pocket. By the way, these liners are not so much. To talk about it. They're big, like a plastic bag, with a small, very flat square that I assume will hold material, like what you'll find in a diaper, taped down the middle. I haven't used it to see how much liquid it will absorb, but it doesn't look like it's locking in much moisture. It looks like you could replace the grocery bag in a pinch as others have suggested, but I'd like one that doesn't have holes! Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone traveling with a child or looking for a comfortable potty seat for walking in public. This is on the list of things I recommend to other moms (and dads)!
