Review on Amazon Basics 15ft 4K@30Hz Uni-Directional DisplayPort to HDMI Display Cable by Athenasby Whitney

cable works as described but note that it is unidirectional. It works with DisplayPort as output and HDMI as input. It's also described that way, but my intended use case was the opposite. I've never heard of one-way digital video transmission, but that seems to be the case. I have verified that this works fine from a Dell Dock (DisplayPort) to a Dell 4K display (via the HDMI input). Using DisplayPort input on a monitor and HDMI output on a laptop did NOT work. I'm not deducting stars from the rating because I don't know the opposite won't work, but am writing this review in the hope that it will prevent someone else from having a similar problem.
